The Usurper is a weblog created to address many different topics - one of my favorites, which is love and romance, among many others such as politics, culture, religion, current events, etc. No topic is too broad or too insignificant to explore. Welcome to my weblog. Enjoy your stay as you venture through my past romances and various other topics that influence this nation and the world around us. Feel secure in knowing  I won’t waste your time posting mundane day-to-day garbage - whining about being too lazy to do nothing. I don’t believe in filling up space on a blog just for the hell of it. If you don’t hear from me for a minute just chill out. I’ll be around.

I’m the kind of brother that you’ll either fall in love with or you’ll grow to hate my damn gutts. Why? Because I’m a non-conformist, an individualist in the purest sense. I don’t need street credibility in order to inspire others - to speak my mind on issues that affect the black community and make my mark in doing so. I don’t live vicariously through other people’s definition of acceptance, thereby, confining myself to a two dimensional way of life. I don’t follow the crowd nor do I need to be surrounded by a posse or an entourage to feel secure.

I’m that kind of brother  you’ll see rolling down the street blasting John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix or John Fogerty from my Bose surround speakers and 12 inch MTX sub in the trunk - rolling to my own beat. You never know - I could be that brother you see cruisin’ down the street on a loud Harley. I’m a one man show - take it or leave it. Either you’re for me or against me. There are no shades of gray. If you’re for me, then great but if you’re against me, then no weapon formed against me shall prosper.

I don’t profess to be a lady’s man or a scholar. I’m just being me as I adapt and improvise my way through this complicated, complex life of mine. Peeps tell me my personality can be compared to Denzel Washington, Don Johnson, and Philip Michael Thomas but I don’t see any of that. I compare my style to Robin Williams, Jack Nicholson, and Ed Bradley.

I love to be in love but not at the expense of being in a relationship that is going nowhere just to say I have a woman in my life. I’m a versatile brother with an eclectic taste in music, food, and entertaining activities. I’m a spontaneous kind of guy that loves to travel, make friends and have fun.

My philosophy is this:  I live in this world. Therfore, I want to learn about this world and the fulness thereof - not just what’s going on in my neighborhood or on the other side of town. As time goes on I will be showcasing various peeps from around the world as they drop their first hand experiences on the culture of the foreign lands they’ve chosen to explore, live and prosper. Don’t get me wrong, peeps. Just because I’m a well-rounded brother doesn’t mean I’ve lost my roots. Don’t play me for one of them bourgie, Republican, conceited types. I may be comfortable at a play or an opera but I can get down in the latin, hip hop, and rave clubs as well.

The short stories you will read on my  weblog are all true. Except for the names and the pictures that are provided each short story is based on actual occurances. Why did I decide to reveal this side of my life? I decided to do so for various reasons. But mainly I decided to write these short stories because it intrigued me to see the shock and disbelief in some people’s faces when I told them some of these stories in person. To see such a wide range of reactions was enough of an indicator that perhaps I should start putting these stories to paper.
